About Surry Lane

Where did the name come from?

The name "Surry Lane" comes from Surry Hills which is a favourite suburb of mine that I love to explore, usually with my 35mm camera as I search for new Street Art in the various laneways around the place. It is a well known inner city hipster suburb of Sydney full of fashion and design houses scattered amongst terraces and backlanes. It has awesome coffee shops and funky restaurants for the food aficionados out there. More importantly it encompasses the hipster lifestyle to a tee.

Our Customers are our Friends

Surry Lane is all about community because our customers are our friends and we are always looking for new funky products for them so they get the same enjoyment that we do every day. We have lots of different hipster products like mens messenger bags, groovy cufflinks, badger hair shaving brushes, beard balm, girls designer watches & handbags, bluetooth speakers and art prints just to name a few. Some exclusive & hard to get items in Australia include our beer soap, beard balm and Dr Squatch soaps direct from the USA which we're sure you'll love.

Artisans in the Garden Exhibition Sat 14 - Sun 22 October 2017

Immerse yourself in a diverse showcase of more than 2,000 pieces representing 44 of Australia’s finest established and emerging artists and craftspeople, working across the media of sculpture, ceramics, glass, photography, jewellery, textiles and so much more.

“Artisans in the Gardens is a wonderful exhibition to visit but also a perfect opportunity to purchase a significant artwork from sought-after or emerging artisans,”  Lucette Moore, Curator of Artisans in the Gardens.

The pieces are thought provoking, functional and beautiful pieces of art. The artistic inspiration for the works draws on nature in all its forms. All items in the exhibition are for sale over the nine (9) day event, with proceeds going to the artists and to helping Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens to continue its support of horticulture, conservation, scientific research and educations programs within your Botanic Gardens. Don’t miss this year’s exhibition at the historic Lion Gate Lodge, located off Mrs Macquaries Road.

Address: Lion Gate Lodge, Royal Botanic Garden Sydney

Opening Hours: 10:30 am - 4 pm
